The two were supposed to work together on Konami's PlayStation 4-exclusive survival horror video game "Silent Hills," but the project was cancelled in April 2015. Meanwhile, del Toro became popular for his dark fantasy masterpieces, including "Pan's Labyrinth" and "The Devil's Backbone." He also produced several blockbuster hits like "Kung Fu Panda 2," "Puss in Boots," and "Mama." He was also responsible for producing some of the popular video games like "Boktai," "Zone of the Enders," and "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow." Kojima is known for his "Metal Gear" video game series.
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has confirmed that Kojima Productions director Hideo Kojima and Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro will be the keynote speakers at the upcoming DICE Summit this year.
